The Doors - Strange Days (1968)

40,00 €Price

Dark, psychedelic and unmistakably The Doors. Released only months after their debut album, Strange Days pushed the band even further into the surreal side of late-60s rock.

Jim Morrison’s haunting vocals sit alongside Ray Manzarek’s instantly recognizable keyboards, Robby Krieger’s guitar and John Densmore’s hypnotic drumming, creating an album that can feel dreamy one moment and unsettling the next.

Tracks like People Are Strange and Love Me Two Times became classics, but some of the record’s best moments come when the band gets stranger — particularly When the Music’s Over, an almost 11-minute psychedelic finale that completely takes over the end of the album.

More than half a century later, Strange Days still sounds wonderfully weird, atmospheric and alive. And on cassette, that hazy analogue sound feels exactly where it belongs.

Essential tracks:Strange Days, People Are Strange, Love Me Two Times, Moonlight Drive, When the Music’s Over
